Manchester City have already broken their fair share of records this season, most notably the most wins in a row in top-flight history – a new record that is still active after the Blues disposed of Tottenham on Saturday.
Every week City as a team or a player – Sergio Aguero becoming the club’s all-time top goal scorer for example – seems to be breaking a record, but there could be more that fall by the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola’s ‘Shark Team’ are currently on course to break at least SIX Premier League records: most points, most wins, most goals, goal difference, away wins, and points gap to 2nd.
Of course, a blip in form could quickly change these projections, but if City can maintain their high standard in the second half of the season they may be dubbed ‘The Record Breakers’ come the end of it.
Guardiola’s men are currently 13 points better off than at the same stage last season, and superior in every department following a year of adapting to Pep’s complex methods, plus several key signings.
