Raheem Sterling, like teammate Sergio Aguero, will play no part in tonight’s Carabao Cup quarter-final game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
The in-form 23-year-old, who has 15 goals to his name this season, confirmed on his Instagram account that he will be there watching the Blues, but not as a player.
“Off out to watch the boys, Cmon!! #MCFC” Sterling’s caption reads.
Aguero and Raheem may not be the only two big names missing with Pep Guardiola making it clear in recent months that he views the Carabao Cup as his lowest priority. According to the Daily Mail, Kevin De Bruyne and Nicolas Otamendi will also be rested tonight.
Even so, he is sure to field a competitive XI and hopefully one that can see City through to the semi-final.
