The whereabouts of David Silva have been a mystery since he was surprisingly absent from Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Tottenham at the weekend.
The reason given was “personal issues” and when players began to dedicate the victory to City’s iconic midfielder, supporters became worried and speculation spread around social media about what could be wrong.
From Valencia-based newspaper Superdeporte comes an update today, with a front page story stating the 31-year-old is currently in Valencia, where he played his club football before moving to City in 2010.
The full story, printed on their website, reports that they have confirmed Silva’s presence in the region from a source close to him.
The same source has asked that David’s privacy be respected at this time, with what is described as a “serious family problem”.
City players and the club itself have remained silent on the matter so far, releasing no statements. Silva will play no part in Tuesday night’s game against Leicester City.
