It’s not a stretch to say that some of Sergio Agüero’s performances of late have not been up to his high standards. The iconic Manchester City striker has looked a little off colour, and today for example he was withdrawn after 58 minutes, with Gabriel Jesus replacing him.
Is Agüero in decline? The answer is probably no, with Manchester-based Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez Haya revealing on Twitter that Kun has been playing through the pain barrier since the Everton game – that’s over three months ago!
Haya has revealed that Sergio has an edema (swelling) to his heel, causing him great pain, but despite that he continues to work hard and isn’t complaining.
Kun Agüero is playing 3 months (since the match against Everton) with an edema in his heel really painful. He NEVER complained about that and always gave 100% playing for Manchester City. He always wants to play and the pain is still in his heel.

If true – and there’s no reason to think it isn’t – it would explain some underwhelming performances from Manchester City’s all-time leading scorer, and hopefully the problem can heal soon.
