Manchester City have had four players named in the best XI players of Europe’s big-5 leagues, in a new study by the CIES Football Observatory, who have their own exclusive statistical approach.
Centre-backs John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi, midfielder David Silva, and striker Sergio Aguero make up almost half of a side that also features the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Dani Alves and Marco Verratti.
The likes of Fabian Delph, Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling also came close to making the final XI after ranking highly in their respective positions.
