Manchester United star Paul Pogba disgracefully wished injury on his fellow professionals at Manchester City several days ago, causing backlash from fans of many different clubs on social media.
Soon after, Pogba saw red in United’s weekend win over Arsenal, ruling him out of the Manchester derby. The instant response of many was that this was karma for his lack of class in wishing injury on City stars.
Kevin De Bruyne has shown how a professional should act when asked if he feels Pogba has been dealt a dose of karma.
The 26-year-old midfielder said: “I don’t believe in that shit. I’m a very straight forward guy. If someone believes it is karma then OK, everyone has their right to their opinion.
“I don’t want anyone to get injured. It’s a competition, you want to play against the best teams and the best players.”
Pogba plays a key role in linking United’s defence and attack, so how will the reds line up without him? KDB isn’t sure.
“It depends what they want to do. Pogba’s a massive player. I know him a little bit. He’s unbelievable. He took a red card and that’s the way it goes: you have injuries and suspensions.”
We’re only five days away from one of the most important Manchester derby games in recent history. A win would send City 11 points clear of their neighbours, while United prevailing on home soil would close the gap to 5 points.
