Juventus consider Manchester City the ‘number one danger’ in their attempts to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, Tuttosport reports.
The 23-year-old is out of contract next summer and both City and Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for him. Bayern Munich are also said to carry an interest in their former youngster.
There have been reports in Italy that Juventus will try to grab the Germany midfielder in January, but Tuttosport reveals that City have already taken some steps towards signing Can, concerning the Serie A champions.
Juve hope that Can’s friendship with Sami Khedira could come in handy as they try to convince him to join them, but City, with Leroy Sané and İlkay Gündoğan, are not short on Germans friendly with the Liverpool player either.
City will allow Yaya Touré to leave the club when his contract is up in June, and with Fernandinho not getting any younger, midfield reinforcements are needed. Can would cost nothing but a signing-on fee with his Liverpool contract almost up – unless City decided to move in January for him.
