Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry showered praise on Manchester City’s match-winner against West Ham, David Silva, after the Spanish magician struck late to give City their third successive 2-1 win.
Liverpool legend Carragher said on Sky Sports after the game: “Silva is Manchester City’s greatest ever player.
“The one disappointment is his age – how long is he going to play? He’s alongside Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Eric Cantona – he’s one of the greatest we’ve ever had in the Premier League.”
Henry didn’t disagree and praise from the Arsenal icon is always worth listening to.
“He’s the best creative midfielder we’ve seen in this league,” Henry said. “I didn’t see everyone play, but David Silva wants the ball and plays the same way against every team.
“He puts his foot in and doesn’t shy away from the ball. He’s brave off the ball and on the ball. What a player.”
Silva found the net after another lovely Kevin De Bruyne assist, with the two midfield generals continuing to inspire unbeaten City in what is already a record-breaking season for the Blues before the half-way point has even arrived.
