Nathan Redmond blasts The Sun and defends Pep Guardiola after incident on Wednesday night

Southampton player Nathan Redmond has jumped to the defence of Pep Guardiola after the Manchester City boss had some animated words with the Saints star after Wednesday night’s game at the Etihad.

Guardiola was quite hands on when speaking to Redmond, with many wondering what exactly what said. Many in the English press have criticised Guardiola today, with some even suggesting he should face an FA charge.

Redmond has put to bed suggestions of the City boss doing anything wrong with a message on Twitter, and in particular lashed out at The Sun, who claimed that Guardiola had called him a wanker.

Redmond said: “Nothing negative or offensive was said towards me from Pep and that’s what makes him one of the best manager’s in world football.”
