PSG midfield prospect Claudio Gomes has received a ‘substantial financial offer’ from Manchester City according to Tuesday’s edition of L’Equipe in France.
The Ligue 1 giants, who are constantly fighting to keep their young gems, are concerned about losing the 17-year-old, who is a current France under-18 international, with Man City making a push to snatch him.
The media in Paris has claimed that Gomes, a central midfielder, has intended to sign his first professional contract with PSG, but in spite of this, City’s financial proposal has turned his head and given him a tough decision to make.
The Parisiens are so concerned about losing Gomes, one of their brightest prospects, that sporting director Antero Henrique has personally taken over dealing with the situation.
Gomes has yet to give any real indication of what he plans to do, giving City a fighting chance of luring the teenager to the City Football Academy, where some of the world’s brightest prospects are learning their craft.
