Chelsea star Eden Hazard has labelled his Belgium teammate Kevin De Bruyne the best player in the Premier League at this time, and Manchester City the best side.
Few will disagree with Hazard, 26, who was also a club teammate of De Bruyne’s briefly when the City playmaker was on Chelsea books before his move to Germany.
Chelsea’s loss has been Man City’s gain with KDB evolving into one of Europe’s best midfielders since his arrival from Wolfsburg.
“Kevin is definitely the best player in the Premier League,” Hazard told the press while on international duty.
“City are the best Premier League team and Kevin is an important player in [Pep] Guardiola’s system.
“He has been criticised when he has played for Belgium, but I do not always think that’s fair. He always carries out everything and does his best.
“He’s an excellent player for our team.”
De Bruyne recently made the difference when City visited Hazard’s Chelsea, a long range effort proving to be the difference between the two sides at Stamford Bridge.
