Manchester City were the big winners coming out of today’s ‘Super Sunday’ after they extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.
City’s hard-fought win over Arsenal was followed by Manchester United failing to keep up as they fell to a defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. That in turn brought the reigning champions closer to the title race, but City have a nice lead heading into the final international break of 2017.
Additionally, City have a vastly superior goal difference to their rivals and their 52 goals in all competitions is the most of any English club ever since 1992/93 when the Premier League era begun.
There is a long way to go in the Premier League and City fans as well as anyone should know that anything can happen, but this makes for good viewing after 11 games.
