Four Manchester City fans suffered light injuries on Tuesday night after being set upon by a group of Napoli ultras, the Mirror reports.
The travelling Blues were leaving a restaurant in the Santa Lucia area, close to where Manchester City are staying, when they were attacked.
One fan is reported to have ran while the other three entered a local pizzeria, where the waiter tried to protect them – receiving a broken nose from the rabid Napoli hooligans for his act of bravery.
900 officers and 300 stewards will be on duty at the 60,000-capacity Stadio San Paolo tonight, while fans have been banned from wearing belts in fear they could be used as weapons.
Napoli have sold over 35,000 tickets for tonight’s game and it promises to be a heated atmosphere as Man City look to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
