AC Milan are set to test Manchester City’s resolve for Sergio Aguero, 29, with a £80m bid this January say The Sun and Daily Mail.
It is believed that Pep Guardiola still does not see a long-term future for the forward who is two goals away from becoming Manchester City’s all-time top scorer. Italian side Milan, under new investment from China, want to test any resolve with a huge £80m bid.
According to the Mail, AC Milan’s hopes of signing Sergio Aguero could be helped if Manchester City move back in for Alexis Sanchez in January. Both newspapers believe City will bid in the region of £20m-25m for the Chilean forward and that his arrival will open the door for Aguero to leave.
Sanchez, 28, is still desperate to leave Arsenal and is keen on teaming up with Guardiola rather than forcing a move to Paris Saint-Germain. AC Milan had intended to move for Aguero last summer but Sanchez’s £60m deal with City collapsed meaning City refused to conduct any business.
City are unlikely to sanction a sale of Aguero in January, particularly if they remain in the Champions League and hope to compete on several fronts on 2018.
