Manchester City travel to Stamford Bridge this afternoon looking to extend an unbeaten run in competitive fixtures that stretches all the way back to April. This will perhaps be the biggest test of that impressive record as Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, high off a midweek win over Atletico Madrid in Spain, look to gain some ground on City and United.
In his debut season as City boss, Pep Guardiola lost both games to Chelsea, one under slightly unfortunate circumstances at the Etihad, a match that helped define last season’s outcome which saw Chelsea crowned champions. Today, Pep will be looking for an improvement and a win at Stamford Bridge would increase the belief that this City side can go all the way.
The experienced Martin Atkinson is today’s referee and here are the lineups selected by Conte and Guardiola:
Chelsea XI: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Cahill, Christensen, Alonso, Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Hazard, Morata
Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Delph, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, David Silva, Sané, Sterling, Gabriel Jesus
The match can be viewed on BT Sport 1 in the UK. A full list of TV coverage from around the world can be found here.
