Sergio Aguero injury not as bad as feared, could return sooner than expected – report

Manchester City fans have been craving some good news after confirmation that Benjamin Mendy will be out until around April and Sergio Aguero was involved in a car accident leaving a gig in Amsterdam last night.

Simon Stone of the BBC and Paul Hirst of The Times have come to the rescue, reporting tonight that damage to Aguero’s ribs is not as bad as feared. He is expected to be out for 2 to 4 weeks, so taking into account the two-week international break after tomorrow’s clash with Chelsea, even a return against Stoke on 14 October is possible.

The 29-year-old has also taken to Twitter, posting a series of tweets thanking fans for their support, as well as the medical staff who have taken care of him.

El Kun will have to wait a little longer to draw level with and eventually break Eric Brook’s record as Manchester City’s all-time top goalscorer, but it’s only a matter of time…
