Leroy Sané rewarded for blistering form with Germany spot, while Silva gets Spain call

Leroy Sané is back in the Germany squad following his outstanding form of late for Manchester City. The 21-year-old was left out of Joachim Löw’s last squad but is back for the World Cup qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan in October.

The speedy winger has been almost unplayable when given time on the pitch of late, scoring a brace in just half an hour against Liverpool after coming off the bench, before a goal and two assists against Crystal Palace. He was also a menace against Shakhtar Donetsk during the week.

Leroy joins former City man Jerome Boateng in the squad, the Bayern Munich defender making his Die Mannschaft return after almost one year.

Meanwhile, to the surprise of no one, veteran David Silva is in the Spain squad for ties against Albania and Israel.
