The England team has today been announced and five Manchester City players (well, if you count loanee Joe Hart) have been called up for international duty.
Joe Hart, Kyle Walker, John Stones and Raheem Sterling were all unsurprisingly given the nod from Gareth Southgate, however Fabian Delph will be delighted to return to the England setup after a few impressive performances.
Delph stepped in at left-back for the last 20 minutes against Crystal Palace last weekend where he got on the clean sheet with an outstanding strike. He also started in City’s Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk where he put in a solid shift in replacement of Benjamin Mendy.
John Stones and Kyle Walker have also put in a series of strong performances at the back, especially in Vincent Kompany’s absence whilst Raheem Sterling has scored 3 goals in the last two games, including one of the bench on Tuesday night.
