Manchester City continue to monitor highly-rated Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić, who it was recently reported is emerging as a potential target for Pep Guardiola.
It is reported by the famous Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper that the Blues had a scout present at the Stadio Olimpico last night to watch Milinković-Savić as his Lazio side were battered 4-1 at home by City’s upcoming Champions League opponents Napoli.
22-year-old Milinković-Savić was one of Lazio’s better players in a poor performance against Maurizio Sarri’s impressive Napoli outfit, although City scouts may have been more impressed by Jorginho in the heart of Napoli’s midfield last night.
Milinković-Savić was born in Spain but represents Serbia internationally, having featured regularly for their under-21 team. Last season in Serie A, he scored 4 goals and registered 7 assists, making an impact that has been compared to Paul Pogba’s at Juventus. To date this season, he has one goal which came against Chievo on 27 August.
