Yaya Touré’s absence is one of the big current talking points among Manchester City fans after Pep Guardiola told the press that Yaya “knows why” he was left out of the squad that travelled to Rotterdam and has yet to play a minute of competitive football this season.
Earlier, Sam Lee of Goal reported that Pep and his coaching staff are concerned by Touré’s fitness levels and that is the reason behind his mysterious absence.
The 34-year-old’s outspoken agent Dimitri Seluk has taken to Twitter to share his views on this situation. In a message to City Watch and others, Seluk claimed that Yaya is in ‘great shape’ and fit to play, adding that it is up to Guardiola to decide.

There is clearly something going on behind the scenes here, as there was this time a year ago when the iconic midfielder was exiled from Pep Guardiola’s plans for a while, until an apology led to him being welcomed back and making an instant impact with his performances.
Hopefully this new saga can quickly come to an amiable ending and Touré can play again in what is likely to be his final year as a Manchester City player.
