Anthony Taylor of Wythenshawe has been tasked with the job of overseeing Manchester City’s trip to Watford this Saturday, in what will be his first Premier League appointment for a City game since the controversial clash with Chelsea in December.
Taylor sent off both Sergio Agüero and Fernandinho in the dying moments of that game at the Etihad Stadium, infuriating City fans. Since then, his only appearance in a City game has been the 0-0 draw against Huddersfield in the FA Cup back in February.
City have failed to win in the last four games when Taylor has been in charge and his performances are often the cause of much discussion among Blues.
Let’s hope for a quiet, controversy-free performance from the 38-year-old on Saturday.
