Ederson trains ahead of Man City’s trip to Feyenoord, but Vincent Kompany is missing

Ederson has put himself in contention to face Feyenoord tomorrow night after returning to training while wearing protective headgear.

The 23-year-old was the victim of a horrifying challenge from Sadio Mane of Liverpool during City’s win over Liverpool at weekend, and there were fears it could be a long-term injury.

However, despite suffering significant damage to his face, Ederson is back in training and has a shot of starting tomorrow. If not, Claudio Bravo will deputise as he did on Saturday when Ederson was forced off.

In less encouraging news, club captain Vincent Kompany missed training today and is now certain to miss the Feyenoord game. Kompany, not for the first time in his City career, was injured while on international duty, much to the chagrin of Pep Guardiola.

Pep is scheduled to speak to the press later today and will confirm the injury situation of both players.
