Manchester City have agreed a pre-contract deal with Sporting Kansas City centre-back Erik Palmer-Brown, who will sign a four-and-a-half year deal when the MLS season concludes at the end of the year, Metro US reports.
The 20-year-old has represented the USA at youth level and was named captain of the US under-20 team earlier this year. He has also been subject to interest from Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax, but it appears that City have won the race and will sign him on a free transfer at the end of the year.
Palmer-Brown, who can also operate as a holding midfielder, will join a huge number of young talents under the City Football Group banner and it is quite likely that he’ll be sent somewhere, possibly Girona FC or NAC Breda, for more experience in Europe. He previously played for Porto B in 2016, appearing regularly and helping them to the LigaPro title.
