Ederson Moraes spent eight minutes on the pitch today after receiving something resembling a kung fu kick to the face from Sadio Mane of Liverpool during City’s 5-0 demolition of Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Whatever you think of the red card challenge by Mane, the blow to the head Ederson received looked serious and given the amount of time he was down for, there were fears in the capacity crowd at the Etihad today that it could be a long-term injury.
The good news is that Ederson appears to be mostly OK, with no concussion or fracture, and he was able to return to the bench before the match finished.

And he has confirmed things aren’t too bad on his Instagram account, posting a photo of himself taped up and giving the Gabriel Jesus hand signal.
Let’s hope the Brazilian, who has been outstanding so far at City and was today before being forced off, can return to action quickly.
