Manchester City have today sent a SIXTH player to Girona – but this one is heading to their affiliated reserve side CF Peralada-Girona B, rather than Girona FC where Pablo Maffeo, Aleix Garcia, Douglas Luiz, Marlos Moreno and Larry Kayode are plying their trade this season.
19-year-old Norwegian goalkeeper Kjetil Haug, who is behind Angus Gunn (on loan at Norwich), Aro Muric and Daniel Grimshaw in the pecking order of City’s young goalkeepers, has joined CF Peralada-Girona B on loan until January. The team plays in the Segunda División B – Group 3, which is part of the third tier of Spanish football.
Haug joined City from Sarpsborg 08 in 2014 and has represented Norway in every age group up to under-19 level. He is under contract at Man City until June 2019 and will look to get some experience during what is his first loan spell away from the Etihad. He is expected to feature regularly with fellow goalkeeper José Aurelio Suárez out injured for four months.
