City Summary – September 1: City to return for Alexis, possible lawsuit against Arsenal, Premier League squad named

It’s time to catch up on today’s news – here’s your City Summary:

The Alexis Sanchez saga did not end with yesterday’s fiasco. The word today is that City have promised the upset Chilean that they’ll be back for him in the New Year.

Even before January, there may be activity, especially if claims from Chile of Alexis signing some sort of City contract are true.

City have named their Premier League squad and it’s a case of “nothing to see here” after yesterday’s non-events, although the inclusion of Oleks Zinchenko may interest some.

Patrick Roberts got his wish and returned to Celtic on loan this summer, but according to a report from Scotland, it could have been permanent had Pep Guardiola not pulled the plug.

Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker both started for England against Malta today. Raheem looked off colour and was taken off at half-time, but Walker had a fine game in a dour England performance. John Stones was an unused substitute.

Think the transfers ended yesterday? Nope, because the Spanish transfer window was still open today and young goalkeeper Kjetil Haug has been sent to Girona’s second team for half a season.

Finally, check out this beautiful bit of skill (and bravery) by Gabriel Jesus for Brazil last night, as he set up a goal for Coutinho.

That’s it for today. Keep your eyes peeled on @City_Watch and the site, day and night, as we work to deliver the latest City news, views, and other high-quality content.
