Official: Borussia Dortmund complete signing of Manchester City wonderkid Jadon Sancho

Manchester City wonderkid Jadon Sancho has today completed a move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth around £10million with a sell-on clause included.

Sancho, described as one of the “great talents of European football” by Michael Zorc, has signed a long-term contract at BVB.

Manchester City will receive a small fee for Sancho who was not signed to a professional contract. He will wear the number 7 shirt vacated by Ousmane Dembélé, who recently joined Barcelona.

The 17-year-old has been trying to force a move due to concerns about the progression path to the first-team and his exclusion from the pre-season tour of the USA. Manchester City officials have struggled to make contact with the talented teenager for a number of weeks after he stopped turning up for training, claiming he had an illness.

Jadon had previously been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal but it is Borussia Dortmund who have got the deal over the line.

Borussia Dortmund announced the signing on their official Twitter account this afternoon:
