Manchester City wonderkid Jadon Sancho has today completed a move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth around £10million with a sell-on clause included.
Sancho, described as one of the “great talents of European football” by Michael Zorc, has signed a long-term contract at BVB.
Manchester City will receive a small fee for Sancho who was not signed to a professional contract. He will wear the number 7 shirt vacated by Ousmane Dembélé, who recently joined Barcelona.
The 17-year-old has been trying to force a move due to concerns about the progression path to the first-team and his exclusion from the pre-season tour of the USA. Manchester City officials have struggled to make contact with the talented teenager for a number of weeks after he stopped turning up for training, claiming he had an illness.
Jadon had previously been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal but it is Borussia Dortmund who have got the deal over the line.
