Alexis Sanchez asks to leave international duty for 24 hours amid Sterling swap deal stories – report

Alexis Sanchez has angered Chile boss Juan Antonio Pizzi by asking for 24 hours away from international duty, according to Chilean source TV1.

This comes as more stories of Raheem Sterling being offered in a swap deal for Sanchez emerge, with Sky Sports, ESPN and The Guardian backing up a huge claim by John Cross of the Mirror made this morning. The Guardian states that City have offered £20million plus Raheem to land the 28-year-old.

Alexis has formally requested permission to be released from international duty for a day on Wednesday afternoon order to carry out ‘personal business’, which TV1 are sure relates to his desire to leave Arsenal.

Pizzi is angry at Alexis, who he let join the Chile squad late before the Confederations Cup, and may not grant him the permission he seeks, which could complicate matters if City are able to strike a deal with Arsenal to sign him.
