Inter Milan are optimistic of completing a deal to sign Eliaquim Mangala on loan from Manchester City in the next 24 to 48 hours, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia.
Mangala has turned down moves to Spartak Moscow and more recently Stoke City, two clubs that were willing to sign him on a permanent deal, in favour of a move to Serie A with Inter.
Di Marzio reports that City have finally opened the door to a loan move, which they had been resisting due to their wish to sell 26-year-old Mangala, and now a transfer should go ahead.
The style of the loan has yet to be clarified. Both Sportitalia and FCInterNews reported earlier yesterday that Inter were becoming more open to the idea of an obligation to buy Mangala next summer, which would guarantee City a fee next summer when Mangala will be entering the last 12 months of his contract.
Mangala was on the bench for City against Everton on Monday night but the expected arrival of Jonny Evans in the next week will again make him surplus to requirements.
