Eliaquim Mangala to demand loan deal from Manchester City in the next 24 hours – report

Eliaquim Mangala will attempt to force through a loan move from Manchester City to Inter, with the next 24 hours set to be decisive according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia.

The two clubs have been at an impasse, with Inter wanting the 26-year-old on loan and Man City desperately wanting to offload one of the most expensive flops in club history.

The dry loan, those with no obligation to buy, is a preferred formula for Italian clubs, so if City do agree to Mangala’s desire to join the Nerazzurri, they may attempt to force Inter into accepting an obligation to purchase the Frenchman next summer.

Although they have explored other options such as Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi, Inter have identified Mangala as their primary target to reinforce the defence, with the player likely to fall back down the pecking order once City sign a new defender – almost certainly one of Jonny Evans or Ben Gibson.
