Eliaquim Mangala says ‘yes’ to Man City exit, more talks with Italian club in 48-72 hours – report

Eliaquim Mangala has agreed to leave Manchester City for a new adventure with Inter Milan – provided the clubs can agree terms.

After many reports from a number of sources in Italy over the past couple of days, TMW has revealed that yesterday’s meeting in Paris between an Inter executive and representatives of the 26-year-old went well.

Over the next 48-72 hours, another round of talks are expected to take place that could potentially see an agreement reached, with Mangala giving his nod to a transfer.

However, even should the sides agree terms, the move isn’t nailed on. Inter are casting their net wide and exploring several options, including Mangala’s Man City teammate Jason Denayer, Aleksandar Dragović of Bayer Leverkusen, and the highly-rated Juan Foyth of Estudiantes, who has recently been linked with Tottenham and PSG.

There is also the issue of City needing another centre-back if Mangala is to go, with the new three-at-the-back system meaning he is currently the main back-up option, ahead of youngster Tosin Adarabioyo. With Pep likely to utilise that system regularly this season, it would make sense to sign a new defender before sanctioning a sale of Mangala.
