Jason Denayer could soon return to Galatasaray and follow Fernando to the Türk Telekom Stadium this summer – but there are significant obstacles to overcome first.
The Turkish giants have asked for Denayer on a second loan deal – he spent the 2015-16 season at Galatasaray – with an option to buy him next summer for €4million (£3.6million), Nevzat Dindar of Milliyet reports.
City are not keen on the idea of sending 22-year-old Denayer on another loan deal to Galatasaray, because much like the Patrick Roberts/Celtic situation, they fail to see the benefits in sending a young player back to a comparatively weak league on loan.
Instead, City have insisted on an €8million (£7.3million) permanent deal to sell Denayer. It is expected that Denayer will try to convince City to accept Galatasaray’s terms, with a feeling that the Istanbul-based are in a strong bargaining position with no other offers currently on the table for the Belgian.
Galatasaray are willing to wait until the last hours of the transfer window to bring back Denayer, and City will hope other suitors arrive to hurry the Turks up. The two clubs have recently done business with Fernando joining Galatasaray in a £4.75million deal earlier this month.
