Manchester City won their opening day Premier League fixture for the seventh year running with a 2-0 win over Brighton on the south coast this evening.
The Blues had to fight for the win against a stubborn Brighton side that defended deep and frustrated Pep Guardiola’s men for 70 minutes, but Sergio Agüero finally broke the deadlock and a Lewis Dunk own goal minutes later ensured City took the three points back home to Manchester.
City Watch editor Adam Bailey went over the big talking points of the match on our Facebook page, and answered some of your questions. He also shared his views on what remains of the transfer window, in particular City’s pursuits of a centre-back and striker.
