Red Star Belgrade general director Zvezdan Terzić has confirmed to the Serbian media that the club has sold brothers Luka Ilić, 18, and Ivan Ilić, 16, to Manchester City for a total of €5.5million (£5million).
An agreement for this deal was reported by the press in July, but only in recent days has there been confirmation of it going through.
The teenagers, both midfielders, have been immediately loaned back to Red Star to continue their development, and Terzić confirmed the inclusion of clauses ensuring they will get minutes.
“In the contract with the Manchester club, there is a clause determining how much coach (Vladan) Milojević must play Luka and Ivan,” Terzić revealed.
Being the older of the two, Luka will be guaranteed more minutes than his younger brother Ivan, who actually made his first team debut for Red Star before Luka.
