Late last night it was reported that Manchester City had lodged a bid for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappé after Pep Guardiola met the player, however there’s some good news for Arsenal, Real Madrid and AS Monaco fans.
According to David Ornstein of BBC Sport, Manchester City have categorically denied making an approach for the 18-year-old wonderkid and have no plans to do so at the prices currently being mentioned.
Both Arsenal and Real Madrid have been linked with Mbappé in recent times and the news that no bid has been made will be welcome, with Madrid reportedly needing to raise the funds in order to lodge an official bid by selling Gareth Bale.
On the flipside of the coin for Arsenal fans, this could mean that Manchester City increase their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez further, despite Wenger’s insistence that the star man will not be sold this summer.
Let the Kylian Mbappé saga begin, it’s sure to be a summer story that will take plenty of twists.
