Swansea City are hoping to re-sign fan favourite Wilfried Bony from Manchester City this summer, with the Ivorian excluded from the pre-season tour of the US in the hope that he can find a new club.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, a ‘close source’ has confirmed Swansea’s interest in repatriating Bony, who scored 26 goals in 56 Premier League games at the Liberty Stadium before moving to City for £25million.
The source says a return to Swansea is a ‘possibility’ but nothing is close yet, with a host of clubs monitoring the 28-year-old’s situation. Marseille have made their interest known in recent weeks, while it is claimed that Fenerbahçe, Besiktas, West Brom and Everton also have an eye on his situation.
City are hoping to recoup a significant amount of what they paid for Bony in 2015 and have placed a €20million (£17.75million) price-tag on his head.
