AS Roma football director Monchi is interested in bringing Aleksandar Kolarov to Rome, according to Italian outlet Corriera della Sera.
The Serie A side are currently working on two deals, one for Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel while another for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is in the works.
Roma are also in the market for a left-back and with first choice Jetro Willems ‘steps away’ from a move to German side Eintracht Frankfurt, Monchi has set his eyes on Manchester City’s Aleks Kolarov.
Corriera della Sera say that Manchester City will demand a €10m (£8.8m) transfer fee for Kolarov who still has a year to run on his contract. Roma could manage that but the real obstacle in a move would be Kolarov’s annual €4.5m (£3.95m) salary, a figure too high for Roma’s liking.
