Sevilla are in advanced talks with Manchester City over the signing of winger Nolito, with the Blues set to take a major hit on the £13.8million they paid Celta Vigo for the 30-year-old last year.
Spanish newspaper Marca reports that negotiations between the two clubs are now in the ‘final stretch’ after contacts were resumed a few days ago.
The transfer will be done in one of two ways: a loan with an obligation to buy Nolito in 2018 or an instant permanent deal. Either way, Nolito is close to a move to Nervión that will cost the Spanish club €9million (£7.9million) this summer or next.
Radio Marca Sevilla states that the deal could be done by Sunday.
Estadio Deportivo reports a slightly higher fee than Marca of €10million (£8.8million) and adds that documents are being exchanged between the two clubs to finalise the transfer.
Life started so well for Spain international winger Nolito after his move to Manchester City a year ago, with six goals and two assists in his first ten games, including a brace against Stoke City on the road.
The 30-year-old seemed to adjust easily to English football, but as 2017 arrived he mysteriously began to vanish from Pep Guardiola’s side, barely featuring in the second half of the season.
His future is now almost certain to continue back home in Spain, with a deal that will see him join Sevilla expected to be concluded soon.
