Manchester City youngster Lukas Nmecha sent England’s under-19 side into the final of the U19 European Championships after coming on as a substitute in the second half against the Czech Republic yesterday.
It proved to be an inspired sub as the match was 0-0 deep into added time at the end when Tottenham attacker Marcus Edwards sent in a cross that Nmecha cheekly backheeled into the goal with TWO seconds remaining on the clock.
The resulting celebrations showed just how important Nmecha’s goal was as it sent England into the final on Sunday where they will face Portugal.
