Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer €20million (£17.7million) to Manchester City for French centre-back Eliaquim Mangala, today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
This news comes less than a day after France Football reported that the Ligue 1 club were exploring the possibility of signing Mangala on loan.
The Italian newspaper now claims that PSG are preparing to make a cash offer for Mangala, who has been a major disappointment at City since joining from FC Porto several years ago.
Having missed out on Pepe, who surprisingly headed to Istanbul with Besiktas, PSG are looking for a fourth defender to enter the rotation with Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and youngster Presnel Kimpembe.
Despite being a French international, Belgium-born Mangala has never played club football in France and a move to PSG would be his first experience in Ligue 1. He spent last season on loan at Valencia in Spain and City are now hoping to sell him on a permanent deal.
