Joe Hart will not be part of Manchester City’s tour of America this summer, despite Pep Guardiola’s shortage of available goalkeepers as the Blues begin pre-season.
With Claudio Bravo still on his holidays after playing at the FIFA Confederations Cup, new boy Ederson Moraes and Hart are the only established goalkeepers available. Highly-rated Swiss goalkeeper Aro Muric is trying to overcome an injury and could make the flight to the US, while 19-year-old local boy and City fan, Daniel Grimshaw, is another option.
Despite these issues, the Daily Mail reports that Hart will be left behind as he continues to pursue a permanent move away from City following a season-long loan spell at Roma in Italy.
It has been reported today that West Ham hope to close a deal for Hart in the coming days, while Newcastle have also expressed an interested. Both would prefer loan deals, with City holding out for an £18million fee for England’s number one. Both the club and Hart prefer a clean break as opposed to another loan move, and City have, so far, refused to budge on their demands for Joe.
The 30-year-old is open to another move abroad but his preference is a return to England, and he will skip Man City’s overseas tour to try and secure a move away from the Etihad.
