Celtic are plotting a £4million move for Manchester City midfielder Olivier Ntcham, the Daily Record, Scottish Daily Mail and Scottish Sun are all reporting.
The 21-year-old French youth international has just returned from a two-year loan spell at Genoa in Serie A with the Italian club opting not to use their option to buy Ntcham for €3million (£2.6million).
Many in Italy were surprised that Genoa sent Ntcham back, because despite being very inconsistent during his stay at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, he showed enough upside to make the fee a potential bargain in the long run.
Since it became clear he would not be joining Genoa, their Serie A rivals Torino and Lazio have both expressed interest in the sturdy midfielder, but the Parisien could be heading up north with Celtic very keen.
The Scottish Sun reports that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers wants Ntcham as his new number 10, and the Hoops could be willing to hand over £4million to sign him.
City could opt to loan Ntcham out again even if it seems unlikely that he has a long-term future at the Etihad, with a view to raising his value, but Celtic are hopeful of landing him on a permanent deal.
