The 17-year-old scored 13 goals in 16 appearances during City’s impressive 2016-17 U18 Premier League season, in addition to three assists.
A highly-rated young striker, Gonzalez was signed in July 2016 from Servette in his homeland, with City beating off competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United to acquire him.
Gonzalez’s good form since arriving has now earned him a professional contract which runs until 2020, the next step towards a long-term career in the sport.
