Istanbul Başakşehir have confirmed the signing of Gaël Clichy following the expiration of his Manchester City contract on June 30.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs including Liverpool, Bordeaux and Galatasaray, but will continue his career alongside Emmanuel Adebayor in Turkey.
The Süper Lig unveiled their newest signing with a video on social media in which Clichy showed off his Turkish language skills.

After a medical tomorrow in Istanbul, Gaël will travel to the club offices and sign the official contract. A signing ceremony will then be held at 2pm, with club president Göksel Gümüşdağ in attendance.
Clichy made 203 appearances during a six-year stay with Manchester City, winning the Premier League and League Cup twice, in addition to the Community Shield in 2012. He was one of five veterans to leave the club this summer when their contracts expired.
