Valencia have asked Manchester City for midfielder Fernando Reges on loan according to Spanish radio channel SER Deportivos Valen.

However, after Valencia refused to use their option to buy Eliaquim Mangala when his loan spell came to an end, City are perhaps wary of sanctioning a similar deal with a player approaching 30. And Blues bosses have told the La Liga club that they will only discuss a permanent deal for the Brazilian.
Fernando is one of several available for transfer this summer and recent reports have indicated that Newcastle are close to clinching a deal for him. Bournemouth and Southampton have also been credited with an interest, but it has been reported that Rafa Benitez’s side are close to a £5million deal.
