The 35-year old was released by City when his contract expired in June. The Argentine, who made 47 appearances for Manchester City, joined in the summer of 2014 from Malaga and was a reliable back-up to Joe Hart and Claudio Bravo.
His finest moment came when he famously produced three heroic saves against Liverpool in a penalty shoot-out to win City the League Cup in 2016. Caballero will replace the out-going Asmir Begovic as Chelsea’s back-up to Thibaut Courtois.
