Despite the incredible amount of television money pouring into the English game, Manchester City continue to have cheeky loan offers thrown their way – even for established England internationals!
England midfielder Fabian Delph has been made available for transfer by Pep Guardiola this summer, as long as someone is willing to cough up between £12million and £15million for the 27-year-old.
West Brom and Stoke City are known admirers and according to the Daily Mail, Stoke have asked City to loan them Delph for the 2017-18 season.
While it does seem insulting to ask for an England international on loan, especially when he’s 27 and not 17 years of age, interested clubs have reason to be concerned about Delph’s fitness. Delph made seven Premier League appearances last season for City, only two of them starts, and has been troubled by injuries since arriving from Aston Villa.
Despite his patchy injury record, City are highly unlikely to sanction a loan deal and as a home-grown player, Delph could remain at City as a squad player should no one meet the asking price of at least £12million.
