Manchester City are showing a serious interest in signing RB Leipzig and Germany under-17 central midfielder Erik Majetschak, German newspaper BILD is reporting.
The 17-year-old is considered one of the best talents in RasenBallsport’s impressive production factory of youngsters, and has been capped at various age groups by the German national team, most recently representing their U17 side.
Majetschak is out of contract in 2018 and City could swoop for him, with RasenBallsport reportedly open to selling both he and teammate Nicolas-Gerrit Kühn, who Barcelona are keen on. The reason is that while both are seriously talented, they do not play the typical style of football associated with the club, and are more suited to the philosophies utilised at City and Barça.
It is suggested by BILD that he Bundesliga side could look to set up a part-exchange deal for Man City wonderkid Jadon Sancho, who they are known to have an interest in.
