Despite his advancing years as a footballer, Bacary Sagna is still in great physical condition and his release from Manchester City hasn’t led to a shortage of suitors.
The 34-year-old French international is currently studying a number of possibilities, and according to France Football one of them is a proposal from ambitious Ligue 1 side Marseille.
It has been a decade since Sagna left France, joining Arsenal from Auxerre in 2007 for €9 million, and while he has options in the Premier League, Les Phocéens offer an ambitious project with the newly acquired wealth of American billionaire Frank McCourt supporting them.
Marseille director of football, Andoni Zubizarreta, recently spoke to Sagna and made a proposal for the experienced right-back to join Marseille, something he is now considering.
Crystal Palace have also been mentioned as a candidate to sign Sagna, but France Football claims that the chances of that happening have decreased, which could be good news for Marseille and Rudi García in their attempt to sign Bacary.
