Benfica goalkeeper Ederson Moraes arrived in Manchester on Monday afternoon ahead of his transfer to Manchester City, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
The 23-year-old Brazilian will go through all the formalities in the next few hours before signing a contract with the Premier League club.
The Portuguese press is also reporting that the CMVM (Portuguese Market Regulator) have asked Benfica to send them information on Ederson’s transfer to City by the end of the day. All transfers in Portugal must be reported to the Stock Exchange, so this is standard practice.
Ederson will become the second signing of the summer after another former Benfica player, Bernardo Silva, who arrived from AS Monaco on Friday.
An announcement seems unlikely today but can’t be far off, with City continuing to move quickly and efficiently in this summer’s transfer window.
